Avalon Organics Scalp Normalizing Shampoo
The Tea Tree Mint scent is strong and gives the feeling of revitalization, although I didn't feel any tingling nor cooling sensation on my scalp during and after use.

However, the shampoo suds pretty decently and is easy to wash off after shampoo too, so it's virtually hassle and fuss-free in terms of washing.

VERDICT: First of all, the scent. It's actually a mixture of tea tree, mint, eucalyptus and chamomile, so the resulting scent is actually heavy towards the mint and eucalyptus side with a hint of tea tree and chamomile. The shampoo itself is a clear gel-like texture and consistency is really smooth to apply. I first came across this shampoo at Watsons during the period when my scalp seems a little more angsty than usual, what with the amount of scalp flakiness all of a sudden. And I've more or less saw this brand at Watsons for a while, but never did considered long enough to buy it as there wasn't a smaller or travels-sized bottle for sale. The standard retail sized is actually a whopping 414ml, so if I were to use this at least 2-3 times a week, I can probably use this for close to 6 months.

But as far as the scent goes, the scent is only that alone. Upon using it for the first time, I noticed that there wasn't any tingling nor cooling sensation on my scalp during shampooing and after washing off the shampoo suds. I even took the opportunity to shampoo my hair first and leave the shampoo and suds sitting on my hair while I proceeded to cleanse and exfoliate my face first. And yes, after washing off the shampoo and suds, there still wasn't any tingling nor cooling sensation felt still.

However, it wasn't that bad either. As the shampoo itself suds pretty decently with a splash of water and despite no forementioned tingling or cooling sensation, the scent more than make up for it while I was happily massaging my scalp while working the shampoo into more suds than usual. The scent actually lets you relax both from the scalp to the mind, due to the calming scent itself. And it washes off decently as well too, no endless mumbling and moaning under the showerhead at all.

And after using it for the very first time, I felt my scalp feeling cleaner than most times and I am loving it. It doesn't irritate nor worsen my scalp current condition and I didn't even scratch at my scalp either when I was waiting for my hair to dry, or even after my hair is dry. Mind you, it's not the usual squeaky clean where my hair feels dry. It really cleanses my scalp without compromising the condition of my hair at all. There were definitely less itchiness and flakiness and my hair doesn't feel tangled too much despite not using any conditioner or treatment too.

And I dare say, after a few months of using this, the itchiness level and flakiness level of my scalp has improved for the better. And since I use my conditioner and treatment on a once-a-week basis, it doesn't effect the conditions and benefits of the shampoo itself too. Sometimes, when I use different shampoos and conditioner/treatment, I do noticed that I have to literally use a conditioner with the shampoo I am using at the moment, or it might end up leaving my hair a little too dry for my liking. But not this Avalon Organics Scalp Normalizing Tea Tree Mint Therapy Shampoo, it just simply did what it was supposed to, without having me to use a conditioner or treatment immediately with it.

VERDICT: ✓✓✓

WHAT I THINK: Despite no tingling nor cooling sensation on my scalp, I find that it does cleanse my scalp perfectly.
