WHAT IS IT: T-Zone: Skin Perfect Pore Tightening Cleanser

It's super fast, deep cleansing action, no rinsing required. Cleanses, freshens skin, tightens pores and reduces shine in one step! And antibacterial action keeps on working to purify skin and help prevent spots.

I like the nozzle of this Pore Tightening Cleanser where the opening ensures it doesn't spill and yet easy to dispense out onto a cotton wool pad.

It's a blue concoction, looks bluish when poured onto a cotton wool pad. But the blue gradually vanishes after swiping it across your face.

VERDICT: First of all, the scent. When I first took a whiff of it, the scent is a little minty with a hint of something that's reminiscent of the color blue. Can't really put my finger to it, but the scent just give me the color of blue. Maybe too much hardcore sniffing here and there. But the scent isn't a put-off, that I can say. It smells like it can disinfect, cleanses and tighten all at the same time, and I am guessing the tightening part is probably due to the existing minty scent.

This T-Zone: Skin Perfect Pore Tightening Cleanser concoction is actually blue in color and I guess this is what probably got me interested in trying this. As mentoned in my previous post, I had won a T-Zone Deep Pore Exfoliating Daily Wash and Pore Tightening Cleanser from T-Zone Singapore Facebook page. Partly because I am plagued by oily skin from my school days, although the acne flares only show up a few years ago. And also partly, because I have nothing to lose from having a chance to try this out. And I can definitely safely deduce that I found a gem in this T-Zone series.

Because it's a tightening pore cleanser that's meant to be used as a after-wash toner, I did notice my blackheads becoming less visible after usage. And my face felt refreshed and clean, and I meant a really thorough clean feeling. Upon using, it gives a really good cooling and tingling sensation on my face. And unlike other Tea Tree-related toners I've used before, where the cooling/tingling sensation last for a split second. This one lasts slightly longer and it's as if you can literally feel your pores tightening upon using it. This has all the makings (read: ingredients) of those Oxy-5/Oxy-10 and other tea tree-esque products, all in one simple bottle.

As I've previously tried using another well-known brand-name Tea Tree Oil on my chin, only to get an onslaught of acne flares for no reason, I thought I was going to give up on Tea Tree-related products. But this came along, and despite having Tea Tree as one of it's main ingredients, I am really happy that it didn't aggravate my already existing acne-flares that much. Sure, a pimple here and there once in a while is still alright, as it shows our skin is still at the "I-am-still-young" stage, but too much is definitely an overkill. And I am glad I decided to try this one, and I am definitely loving what it has done for my skin. My pimples are definitely much more well-behaved now.

And personally, I am glad the folks at T-Zone (And much more love to Nezon Marketing for bringing this in too!!) actually came up with a facial series that not only uses Tea Tree but also Manuka Honey as it's main ingredient(s). As some of us folks might have skin that is a tad sensitive to pure Tea Tree, but with Manuka Honey, it's also moisturizing at the same time. And to be honest, after using both the T-Zone Deep Pore Exfoliating Daily Wash and T-Zone Skin Perfect Pore Tightening Cleanser, I've kinda stopped using a facial moisturizer for a month now. I would have very much like to attribute to being lazy, but then, that's not the case here. Just the pore tightening cleanser itself already made my skin feels a tad more moisturized to the extent that I've stopped using facial moisturizers. Although the eye-creams and lip-balms are a must, no matter what ^^

This is absolutely one product range I (in a Singaporean's method) die die must recommend to anyone and everyone who's been plague by acne and tea tree woes. Despite that it's best to use it in the morning, afternoon and night for the product(s) to be effective, but it's okay to skip the afternoon cleansing, if time and place prevents you from doing so. Just remember that after a night of sleep, you definitely do need to wash the grime, sweat and dirt off your face first thing in the morning. And at the same time, to wash off those same things resting on our skin surface after a day's worth of work, school, etc at night.
