WHAT IS IT: Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry Souffle Moisturizing & Purifying Mask

Looks creamy and rich, but when applied, it has the right consistency of a clay mask. Best recommended to apply just before going for a shower or bath for easy rinse-off without the fuss and messiness.

VERDICT: This face mask has the right consistency that is regular/typical of clay mask, and although it looks creamy, I personally find that it doesn't take too much effort to apply onto my face. Instead, I relish the moment when I apply such yummy smelling mask. The color itself is a very pale pink color that comes with a sweet and refreshing strawberry fruity scent and applying this mask is just simply pure bliss.

Usage of this mask is basically pain-free and idiot-proof as well. First of all, you need to cleanse your face well of all dirt, grime, make-up, etc. Next, apply this mask and let it sit on your skin for a good 15-20 minutes or at least until it dries up a little before rinsing it off. I personally recommend using mask(s) like this prior to shower or bathing, especially if you find water dripping along your arms, off your elbows and onto the floor. Rinsing it off inside the bathroom during shower/bath is best as you don't need to worry about unnecessary spillage or splashing onto the floor.

After using this mask, I find my skin/face feeling so cleansed, refreshed and feeling oh-so-nourished. Personally, I find this face mask gentle, so I am guessing that those of you sweethearts out there should be able to use this if you have really sensitive skin that cannot tolerate skin/face masks that gives off that tingly and pricking sensation upon and after application. And despite the product I used is a sample sized sachet, I found that it is more than sufficient to use it on your face and up to the chin/neck area with slightly more to spare.

And even after a few days after usage, I found that I have no side-effects on my skin since all Montagne Jeunesse masks are vegetarian and animal-friendly which promises no bunny bashing or bits of animals in it. I just love products that are animal-cruelty free, and I personally wouldn't mind spending a little more on products that do no harm to animals, big or small

VERDICT: ✓✓✓

WHAT I THINK: No bunny bashing? Checked. No animal bits seen or felt? Checked. Gentle on skin yet cleanses, refreshes and nourishes? Checked. I;m definitely going to hunt down more variations of Montagne Jeunesse masks to try out.

WHERE TO REDEEM SAMPLE: Sadly, I couldn't find their Singapore-based facebook page. But what I do recalled is that, Guardian and Watsons are retailing travel-size packs around S$2, so, it's reasonable to buy a few and try them out.

WHAT IS IT: Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Pac

Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Pac: Ultra-deep cleansing Dead Sea Minerals to penetrate deep into pores drawing out impurities. Nutrient rich with Seaweed & Kelp to help restore skins vitality leaving you cleansed to the core and totally relaxed.

The color actually looks lighter than what is shown on the packaging, but the effects of using this mud pac mask still pack a punch. And that little sachet is actually enough for 1 use, especially if you are like me who tend to over-spread sometimes.

VERDICT: The first time I've seen Montagne Jeunesse's masks were initially from Watsons from more than 10 years ago. But however, I didn't quite dare to buy as I was a little apprehended and worried that 1 sachet might not be enough for my oily face. Until a few months ago, when Montagne Jeunesse were having a sampling exercise whereby fans of their Facebook page are entitled to redeem a sample to try. And I am definitely glad I did request for their sample(s).

Upon tearing open my Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Pac, I was instantly overwhelmed by this relaxing scent that smelled minty and fresh to my nose. Yes, I'm actually a sucker for anything and everything minty and methol-y, as I like that clean, fresh and refreshing scent it gives. The scent doesn't put me off, to say the least. Although I did realized the color of the actual mud pac is lighter than what was shown on the packaging itself. But color isn't exactly important, what's more important is that the product does what it should be doing.

And I am also pleasantly surprised that this 1 sachet is actually enough for my entire face, therefore, no wastage nor spare mud pac lying around, which I personally feel is good. Using straight from a tube or tub, we always and mostly end up applying either too thin or too thick a layer. Which resulted in the mask not working as it is supposed to or taking too long to dry up before we can wash it off. Now you know why other users could wash off their mask within 15 to 20 minutes of application while some of us ponder why the mask is still wet even after 30 minutes (^^);

I like how the mask made my skin feel really tingling and cooling during application and when it was time to wash it off, I was a little reluctant. Besides, Singapore is a really hot and humid country and the heat sometimes can come at night too, therefore I wanted the mask to stay on my face a little more longer until it beat the heat and leaves my face feeling all cool and refreshed. But alas, I still have to wash it off. And I instantly noticed how my skin looks a little better than before the mask application, it looked a little more relaxed and cleaner. And I can go on and apply my usual facial mask, which is my regular mask routine to pamper my face.

And I really, really liked how some red spots on my face looks so much calmer after using this Mud Pac too, as those red spots seemed a little undecided on their next course of action. Which ended up making them go away, and not look out of place and so awkward on my face. Phew! And the best part? Montagne Jeunesse masks all come in sachet forms, so it's easy to bring some with you during your overseas holiday trips, and it's also cheap and affordable too, if you intend to use them at least once or twice a week. 1 sachet is just exactly enough for 1 time use, and because they have so many different types of masks, you can get the ones you need the most and pamper your skin on a weekly basis. (The chocolate one actually looks tempting enough to eat too!)

VERDICT: ✓✓✓

WHAT I THINK: Those red spots on my face actually looks calmer after usage, which is a pleasant surprise.

Samples Received/Redeemed: 24 Mar - 29 Mar 2013

I have to admit I have been a little lazy this week in going out of the house to redeem free samples. And at last count, I skipped 2 free samples. They're namely:

• KOSÉ Singapore's NEW INFINITY WHITE DEEP PROTECTION UV with SPF50+/PA++++
• DailyVanity's Biotherm Blue Therapy 7 Day Trial Kit

For the KOSÉ one, I got to know about the sampling activity because I am a fan of Ju Ann's Page on Facebook. Let's just say I was a little too lazy and lethargic to go down to Orchard for 1 sample, as I personally feel that it doesn't feel the sample is worth the journey despite the sample costing more than the journey which actually does make the sample collection worthwhile. I just happened to be a sample collector who prefers to be able to grab a few samples in one day to make the trip really worthwhile.

As for the DailyVanity one where I got picked as a winner, the 2 collection dates given were today (Saturday, 30 March) and next Saturday (06 April). And let's face it, I am too much of a lazy bum if it involves going down to Orchard on a weekend afternoon for just 1 sample. Hope DailyVanity will give my sample away to the next person since I didn't go down to collect it. Although on a side note, what I personally can't understand is that, the collection details is from 2 person waiting at Starbucks. This meant either they have an office where the location is not easily accessible or something, in which case, I feel they should offer to mail the samples via normal postage instead.

Nope. Weekend Afternoon + Orchard = Very hectic for me, no matter how "hardcore" a sample/freebie collector I am.

I saw the April edition of Singapore's Women's Weekly at the newstand near my area, was a little interested. And the newspaper vendor promptly try to convinced me to get the magazine for 3 days straight. I finally caved in and bought it. The samples are:

• Dove Damage Therapy Intense Repair Conditioner @ 30ml

The size is actually good for bringing it with you if you are going overseas for a short holiday.

WHERE TO REDEEM SAMPLE: At any newstand for S$4.20 a copy. If you can't find it at any big bookstores, such as Books Kinokuniya, Popular for example, try the newstand at the nearest MaMa shop near you. The one that is always near the wet market/open air kopitiam or newstands at Bus/MRT Interchange.

Previously, PepperSung had a giveaway where there was a picture of 2 kitties (one black and one purplish-pink) and participants are invited to guess where the 2 kitties can be found. And a random winner will be chosen. I got lucky :D

And so I waited and waited for the postman to finally deliver my much anticipated prize in my mailbox. And SingPost are notorious for "damaging" parcels somehow, either a tear in the envelope that meant your stuff is "lost in the mail" or something similar. And when I finally saw this in my mailbox, I really breathed a sigh of relief. Phew~

*o* Oh noes, I'm being fattened up xD (And Joy Sung has really pretty handwriting, mine can't even make it believable as a doctor's handwriting -_- )

Samples Received/Redeemed: 19 Nov - 24 Nov 2012

So, another week of samples received and redeemed, freebies won and gift voucher spent. Another sad week to say the least, since I have only 3 goodies to show here. But at the end, it's better than having nothing to show huh? Without further ado, here's the freebies/goodies for the past week.

Despite many people joining this Welcome Giveaway lucky draw organised by Erabelle Singapore, I'm just glad my name was one of the chosen for a Erabelle Long-Lasting Brown Pencil.

Arrived at Vivo City rather early, so I did my usual "I-wander-around-like-a-lost-soul" thing. Lurked near Erabelle, only to see 4-6 people crowding around a table having a discussion. Thinking that they may be having a meeting, I proceed to wander around some more, finally had it and approached the Information Desk and inquire about Erabelle's opening hours. Turns out, there were staffs actually manning the front counter inside Erabelle lol

The lady who served me was very matronly and friendly at the same time, and kudos to their uniform too as it's actually a kimono. Pretty! Initially I wanted the black one, but after she tested out the colors on my hand, I realized black was too dark while gray seemed even darker. The staff agreed too, so I settled for brown instead. And this brown pencil costs S$34.24 in retail prize (o_O) Just glad I got it for free instead of having to buy one.

WHERE TO REDEEM SAMPLE: If you are on my friend list, you would have had the app spammed by me on your wall. But nonetheless, I think I might have posted it on my Facebook page as well. And for those of you beautiful ladies (and men who joined to get one for your wife, girlfriend or female siblings), you might want to check your email inbox and see if you are one of the lucky 100 who won too.

In my previous Samples Received/Redeemed post, I've stated that I got a S$5 Watsons voucher, courtesy of a survey prize awarded by Pfizer Singapore. Knowing that I was going to Vivo City to redeem my Erabelle Brow Pencil, I figured I could stake out the Watsons there as I am pretty sure they should stock My Scheming masks. Glad I brought the voucher along to offset my mask by S$5.

Although kinda sucky that Pfizer Singapore took so long to mail my voucher out, or I could have bought my mask at an even cheaper prize. But still, better than no voucher, I reckon.

Previously, I joined the "Make A Gingerbread Man" app by The Body Shop and I didn't realized that they would send another email to me informing me that the surprise gift voucher would be ready for collection. And stupidly, I thought the first email was meant for redemption. And hence, made my way down to the Ion Orchard outlet to redeem it.

The staffs are rather ignorant and haughty actually. Their outlet entrance was wide opened and seeing that there wasn't any shutter pulled half way down nor was there any sort of barricade at the entrance, I presumed their outlet was opened and went in to redeem my surprise gift voucher.

The staff nearest to the entrance told me that their outlet opens at 10:30am. And seeing that my time was already 10:35am, I asked them if they said they opened at 10:30am cos it's already 10:35. They stopped whatever they were doing and all of them looked at me like I was some sort of freak show. Obviously, they are ignorant of their own company rules and policy.

In which I duly made a feedback on The Body Shop Facebook page. It wouldn't hurt nor kill them to just kindly inform me that they do not have the vouchers ready for collection yet or even anything. So unhelpful, despite me writing so many reviews on how good their products are. I think ungrateful is a better description..

And I finally got them to allow me to redeem my gift card at Bukit Panjang Plaza instead as the staffs at the BPJ outlet are much more friendlier and down-to-earth. As usual, my favorite store manager there was a little blur lol Until her staff (a sweet Indian girl) remembered and asked if I was the one who feedback about the Ion Orchard outlet. So, I just told them what happened exactly, as you all had read about in the previous paragrpah.

And the store manager and the sweet Indian girl's response? The same as me, appalled! Store manager said that the Ion Orchard outlet staffs should stopped or dropped whatever they were doing and attend to the customer, in which case, me. While the sweet Indian girl actually asked me to retort back to the Ion Orchard outlet staffs exactly what time is their clock?

Glad to know there are friendly, sweet and understanding TBS staffs who actually feel and sympathized for their customers. Can't say the same for the Ion Orchard outlet one. If you don't believe I have friendly relationship with the BPJ outlet staffs, go to the nearest or favorite outlet of your choice and ask your preferred staff if they had to do a Gangnam Style dance at the end of their Dinner and Dance ;-)

WHERE TO REDEEM SAMPLE: Go over to The Body Shop Singapore Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheBodyShopSingapore/app_278317458951524, and Like their page in order to access the app. Next, register your particulars and once done, you may proceed to decorate your own Gingerbread Man.

Whether you did a good or bad job at it, you will still be eligible to receive/redeem a Surprise Gift Card. I would suggest avoiding redeeming from the Ion Orchard outlet since their staffs aren't that friendly and seemed rather ignorant about their own company rules, policy and the time their outlet is supposed to open.

TIP: People tend to cheat at all the apps that TBS came up with. As with the previous Tea Tree Power app, I think 3rd place winner cheated cos he/she went from 90+ votes to 1600 votes in under 24 hours. Either they have really dedicated friends who want them to win so badly or as we all know it, kept making extra accounts to vote for themselves. Whereas bloggers like Charlotte from MFP didn't even get to one of the top 3 spots at all, despite her review being one of the best ones out there. No doubt those with 400+ votes and more probably cheated as well, I'm just saying. So, my advice is not to focus on trying to win. Too much anguish. Just do the app and get your free Surprise Gift Card.

Samples Received/Redeemed: 01 Nov - 10 Nov 2012

I had to admit, it's a rather sad week from 01 Nov through to 10 Nov. There wasn't much samples I yanked out of my mailbox, and I thought I was so close to sample-withdrawal symptom. But on the other hand, I'm kinda glad I got spooked a little with Essentials, ended up filling out their sample request form 3 times within a span of less than a month and now, I have 3 sample kits for the Essentials trial kit. Haha! Maybe the lack of samples in my mailbox is also a blessing in disguise in another form, huh?

I love receiving bulky mail and I cannot stress how excited I am whenever I see something that is addressed to me and looks somewhat bulky. The feeling grows and grows~

So, the first time round after I submitted my sample request and I didn't receive anything for close to 2 weeks. I panicked and thought maybe I was too slow, and hence, filled it in another 2 more times. And now, I have 3 sample kits ^^;

As usual, it's the sample "flavor" or series, which are:

I happened to saw this sample giveaway on the right panel of Facebook while I was playing my regular FB game apps. So naturally, I checked it up and saw that it was available for anyone residing in Singapore and thus spammed everyone who is interested to get their hands on it too.

I got a Strawberry Souffle and I reckon people whom I know are probably getting the same too. Always saw this mask for sale at Watsons, however, I've never encountered anyone buying them. Maybe that's why they are giving out samples to get people to buy. I'd say these are good to bring with you on chalet or holiday outings, if you want to.

But then on the other hand, everyone loves free samples, whether they come in sachets or little bottles. And free stuffs gets redeemed pretty fast too.
